New York, NY (May 23, 2011) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and data center provider in 15 strategic North American markets, today announced that IPNETZONE has joined the award-winning Telx Ethernet Exchange to expand the reach of its recently-launched MPLS Exchange Platform (MEP). The MEP connects MPLS networks across multiple carriers to offer seamless connectivity to global markets and facilities. By joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange program in New York City, IPNETZONE can now remove a significant barrier to entry for carrier customers that were previously required to buy a dedicated last-mile circuit or install a dedicated cross-connect into the MEP – reducing both costs and time to market.

“IPNETZONE is proud to be a member of the Telx Ethernet Exchange, leveraging its one-to-many connectivity to better serve our customers,” said Joon Shin, CEO of IPNETZONE. “IPNETZONE’s MEP customers now have the ability to seamlessly interconnect to all carriers within the Telx 111 8th Avenue data center, while other Telx Ethernet Exchange members now have additional options with direct access to our MEP from this key location.”

The Telx Ethernet Exchange is an easier way to connect buyers and sellers of Ethernet services.  Service providers, cloud and SaaS providers and large enterprises can seamlessly connect their Ethernet networks without the time-consuming, costly process of setting up individual, complex interconnection agreements or building out local fiber networks. IPNETZONE’s MEP gives service providers the flexibility to access multiple MPLS networks globally and experience MPLS the way it was originally intended – as a carrier-to-carrier service. By leveraging the carrier facilities on the MEP, carriers and service providers of all types can dramatically increase revenue opportunity and productivity while vastly reducing interconnection costs, operating expenses and time to market.

“IPNETZONE chose the Telx Ethernet Exchange as a fast, cost-effective way them to expand their service delivery model,” said Glenn Calafati, VP of Interconnection Services for Telx. “Not only does this partnership make it easier for carrier customers to connect to IPNETZONE’s MEP, but it gives our Global Marketplace of customers even more last-mile connectivity choices. We look forward to helping IPNETZONE expand its market reach with MEP through the benefits of the Ethernet Exchange.”
